What is the Refine Path philosophy?
Our philosophy at Refine Path as a training company is to do more than just teach, train or educate. We believe to overcome the challenges of the workplace we must first learn to cultivate our character and work ethics. These are essential not only at work but life in general.
In the modern workplace, the pursuit of knowledge is seen as the ultimate in career progress. Often people forget strengthening of wisdom is more important. People thus become more knowledgeable but not necessarily wiser. People learn but they forget to cultivate.
An ancient saying mentions it takes ten years to grow a tree but hundred years to cultivate a person. The start of cultivation must begin with the self. To do better at work (and one may argue in life), the individual must have the desire to pursue dreams, understand the importance of setting goals, putting plans into action and introspect to understand themselves and improve themselves. No one can do it for them.
It is with this philosophy that we do not see ourselves as motivational speakers or a motivational company. While motivation is what we inevitably touch, we believe we cannot motivate anyone who does not want it already. Motivation comes from the root word “motive”. According to the Webster’s Universal College Dictionary, motive means “something that causes a person to act in a certain way, do a certain thing.”A motive thus comes from within someone.
At Refine Path, we provide the right avenue, medium and perhaps set in motion conditions for motivation to happen. Thus increasing productivity, lower staff turn-over by helping employees look at work issues from a different perspective. At the end of the day, we hope they will find more meaning in their work and relate better to work and the work environment.
If you like our philosophy, speak to us. You will not get “rah, rah” type of training from us. We will discuss with you your needs and customize a program that best fits with your company dynamics.
Introspection and reflection, the key to self-improvement can happen anywhere at anytime. We don’t believe we need to get people away from their daily grind in order to reflect and break them down and cry in order to improve themselves. Off-site meets and workshops are good and serve a purpose, internal seminars and coaching sessions work in certain circumstances too. We are adept in both ways.
Call us and let us know how we can help. If we can’t we will point you in the right direction.
